The magnificent 7 and the little typography workshop
7 friends take over a family-run typography workshop in San Zeno sul Naviglio. Printing begins with movable lead type, just like in Gutenberg’s day. And Grafica Sette is established.
A world in 4 colours: the second move
The business moves again, this time to its permanent location. To celebrate, a huge 70×100 four-colour offset printing press is installed.
Make way for the computer
Grafica Sette is the first typographer in Brescia, and its province, to implement a computerised system for estimating and controlling production flows.
The first monumental change
Printing presses are no longer managed by hand, computers take care of them. Thus, Graphic Service is born, the high-tech service dedicated to prepress.
The second monumental change
The company sees the arrival of the first CTP (Computer to Plate) press, to replace all manual plate-making work in one fell swoop.
The first ‘green’ transition
The company’s new photovoltaic system comes into operation. 150 kW of green power, all dedicated to the production department, and all zero impact.
Boxes aren’t what they used to be
The company takes over a paper processing laboratory specialising in the production of luxury packaging. And the customers show their appreciation.
The second ‘green’ transition
The decision is taken to eliminate all the chemicals used in developing the printing plates. The cost is higher, but the environment comes first
Even more digital. Even more green
The digital printing department is upgraded to handle shorter runs and further reduce the use of chemicals.
Seventyseven. Like before, but more than before.
Sometimes the simplest idea is also the best. Thus, Seventyseven is established, more than an integrated communication agency, it’s a new way of communicating. Seeing is believing.
